Flats in Rembertów — prices, the district, listings

Rembertów is the eastern edge of Warsaw, where houses and forest take up more space than blocks of flats. Life here feels like a small town, and the city centre is a train ride away — no traffic, no changes.

What is Rembertów like from the inside?

Most of the district is single-family housing with gardens, pre-war and post-war, mixed with small multi-family estates. There are few blocks, so fewer flats come up for sale here than in neighbouring districts and they go faster.

Stary Rembertów clusters around the railway station and the main service streets; Kawęczyn and Wygoda are more peripheral and quieter. The district also carries a clear military imprint — an academy and closed areas take up a sizeable share of its surface.

There is a lot of greenery and it is the real thing: forests on the boundary with Wesoła and Wawer, allotments, yards with grown trees. In Warsaw that argument usually only comes with moving out of town.

Getting around

Rail is the most reliable option: trains from Warszawa Rembertów reach Warszawa Wschodnia and the centre in around fifteen minutes. The rest of the district depends on buses, which at peak hours share the road with outbound traffic.

There is no metro and none is planned. The nearest line-two stations are in Praga, and the bus ride to them depends on congestion along the outbound route.

By car you head east towards the ring road and on to Lublin, which for some buyers is the main reason to choose the district. Driving into the centre at peak time is slower than the train.

Who is this district for?

People looking for a house or a flat with a garden inside city limits, without registering outside Warsaw and without losing public transport.

People working on the eastern side of the city and anyone commuting by train — this address saves an hour a day compared with driving.

Less so for buyers who want choice: the market here is small and every listing is different. If you need a specific size within a specific budget, expect a longer wait than in districts with large estates.

Frequently asked questions

Does Rembertów have a metro?

No, and none is planned. The fast link to the centre is the railway from Warszawa Rembertów — about fifteen minutes to Warszawa Wschodnia and the centre.

Are there blocks of flats in Rembertów?

There are, but they are a minority — single-family houses dominate. That is why there are far fewer flats on offer here than in districts with large estates, and individual listings disappear faster.

Why are prices in Rembertów lower?

The district sits on the eastern edge of the city, has no metro and few services or jobs. You pay for quiet and greenery rather than for being central — and that shows in the price per square metre.
