Stacja Rembertów

Rembertów was made by the railway and the military. In 1867, the Warsaw–Terespol–Moscow line was opened and people began to settle along the tracks; in 1888, the surrounding land was purchased for an artillery range, from which the entire later history of this area originated. After the war, the General Staff Academy was moved here (1954), and in 1957 Rembertów lost its city rights and was incorporated into Warsaw.

Today it is the most peaceful part of the city on the right bank of the Vistula: low-rise buildings, lots of greenery, numerous single-family houses and silence that cannot be bought closer to the centre. The price is distance — it takes longer to get to Śródmieście from here than from most districts.

This is compensated by the railway, and it is the number one argument here. By train from Warszawa Rembertów station you can get to Warszawa Wschodnia and further to Śródmieście faster than the map would suggest — without traffic jams and without dependence on bridges.

The investment is small, with apartments ranging from two to six rooms and completion in 2027, so it is rather a proposition for someone looking for space and peace than an address in the centre.

What to watch out for: check the train schedule during rush hours and the actual route to the station, as well as school catchment areas. In a district with such low building density, distances can be greater than they appear.

For most of the twentieth century, Rembertów was not Warsaw. It was a separate town, attached to the capital only in 1957, and to this day it has retained a small-town layout: low-rise buildings, pine trees between houses and a military character, as it is home to the War Art Academy. The name of the development refers to the railway station, around which all this grew.

The estate is intimate: two buildings and sixty-four apartments, including two large apartments with an area of eighty-six and one hundred eighty square meters. The buildings have four floors above ground level and one underground garage level. The design plays with the history of the place through an architectural detail referring to the former buildings, which rarely happens with new developments. The completion date is 2027, although sources indicate the second or fourth quarter, so the contract will determine this.

What is not visible in the visualizations: the whole point of this address is the railway. From Warszawa Rembertów station you go to Wschodnia in about fifteen minutes and this is the only fast way to get to the centre from here, because by road Rembertów is beyond the ring road and is congested during peak hours. Before making a decision, it is worth measuring how long it takes to walk from a specific building to the platform, and checking the schedule, because trains do not run here every five minutes like the metro.
